Rosamund de Sybel is the founder of Lantern Associates, an independent geopolitical and geoeconomic advisory firm. She advises businesses and investors on the implications of conflict, geopolitics and economic statecraft for their strategic and commercial decisions. Her twenty-year career combines geopolitical expertise with first-hand experience of how businesses and financial institutions assess and respond to international political, economic and security developments. Before founding Lantern, Rosamund led the geopolitical and geoeconomic advisory practice at the International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS), one of the world’s leading defence and security think tanks. Previously, she established and headed the geopolitical risk function at ICBC Standard Bank, a unit of the world’s largest bank by assets. She also served as a Director at K2 Integrity and as Editor and Economist for the Middle East and Africa at the Economist Intelligence Unit.
